Ingredients:
- ½ Tb Coarse Sea Salt
- ½ Tb granulated Sugar
- ½ Tb coarsely-ground Black Pepper
- ½ Tb good-quality dry Mustard powder
- 1 tsp Crushed Red Pepper flakes
- 1 Tb salt-free dried Italian Herbs Seasoning*
- 1 Tb Onion powder
- 1 ½ Tbs minced Garlic
- 1 tsp prepared Horseradish
- 1/3 cup Red Wine Vinegar
- 1 cup dry Red Wine (Malbec, Chianti, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot or a dry Red Wine blend)
- 2 Tbs Soy Sauce
- 2 Tbs Worcestershire sauce
- 2 Tbs Olive Oil
Preparation:
- Combine the dry seasonings (sea salt through onion powder) in a deep bowl.
- Add the minced garlic, horseradish, red wine vinegar, red wine, soy and Worcestershire sauces and olive oil to the bowl and whisk the marinade together.
- Pour some of the marinade into the container for the beef, add the beef and balance of the marinade to the container, cover and marinate the beef for 8 hours.
- Drain the beef from the marinade before grilling it.
- Baste the beef with the Go-To Marinade for Beef while grilling for maximum flavor.
*Notes:
- Italian Herb Seasoning is a mix of assorted dried herbs associated with Italian cooking; usually it contains basil, oregano, rosemary, thyme, parsley and sage. Readily available at supermarkets and the big-box grocery stores, it’s often organic too; make sure that it is salt-free. Alternatively, you can make your own by combining those dried herbs.
