Gado Gado is an Indonesian salad of raw, blanched or steamed vegetables and may include hard-boiled eggs and/or firm tofu. It is always served at room temperature and accompanied by peanut sauce. There are no pre-set ingredients for Gado Gado, go with your preferences. Be sure to cut your ingredients into one- or two-bite pieces and include seasonal selections. Strive for varied colors, textures and flavors among the components, this will not only make for a more attractive presentation but also a more enjoyable dining experience. Pickled vegetables are also suitable for inclusion in this recipe.

Total Time: 10 to 30 minutes depending upon your selection of ingredients and excluding preparing the peanut sauce. Serves 4.
Suggested Ingredients:
- Hard-boiled Eggs, halved (2 per person)
- Bean Sprouts, steamed
- Carrots (sliced or cut into bite-size pieces or “baby” carrots), steamed or raw
- Broccoli florets, steamed
- Cucumber, cut into 2-inch pieces and quartered lengthwise
- Beets, cooked and quartered or cubed
- Bok Choy or Baby Bok Choy, steamed
- Cauliflower florets, steamed
- Radishes, halved
- Jicama, peeled and cubed
- Cabbage, cut into bite-size pieces and steamed
- Sweet Bell Peppers, stem and core removed and cut into strips
- Tomatoes, cut into wedges or thick slices
- Cherry Tomatoes
- Firm Tofu, cut into bite-size pieces
- Potatoes, boiled until al dente and cut into bite-size pieces
Preparation:
- Hard boil the eggs, when done, cover with cold water immediately to stop the cooking. Once cooled, peel and halve.
- Steam and boil the vegetables which require it, cool prior to serving.
- Arrange the hard-boiled eggs, vegetables, etc. on platters and plates and serve Gado Gado with peanut sauce.
