The Anna May Cocktail

The Anna May Cocktail evokes flavors of the Far East in a tasty tribute to the late, lovely actress Anna May Wong*.  Golden lychee-based elderflower liqueur, spicy ginger vodka* and lychee juice each contribute their subtle, delicious elements in this intriguing and delectable cocktail.  We honor Anna May Wong’s underappreciated talent with The Anna May Cocktail.  Raise a toast to her and enjoy The Anna May Cocktail or two while watching one of her many movies from Hollywood’s golden age.

The Anna May Cocktail

Total Time: 5 minutes. Serves 2.

Ingredients:

  • 3 oz Elderflower Liqueur*
  • 3 oz of Ginger Vodka*
  • 1 oz Canned Lychees Liquid
  • 1 cup Crushed Ice
  • 2 Canned Lychees

Preparation:

  1. Combine the elderflower liqueur, ginger vodka and lychee liquid into a cocktail shaker.
  2. Add the crushed ice to the cocktail shaker and shake well.
  3. Place one lychee at the bottom of each of two martini glasses.
  4. Strain The Anna May Cocktail into two martini glasses and serve.

  • Anna May Wong, born Wong Liu Tsong, was an American actress, considered to be the first Chinese American Hollywood star as well as the first Chinese American actress to gain international recognition. Her varied career spanned silent film, sound film, television, stage, and radio.   • Elderflower Liqueur is lychee-based and can be used as a subtle flavoring element in many cocktails.
