Bond Girl Cocktail
The Bond Girl Cocktail is a great addition to your holiday and everyday cocktail collection. A few years ago, while visiting Vienna, Austria during the Christmas market season, we were in need of sustenance after visiting multiple Christmas markets. Laden with Christmas ornaments and assorted holiday tchotchkes, we found ourselves near the University of Vienna, and popped into a restaurant frequented primarily by university students. To our delight, the restaurant had a great cocktail menu. Our bubbly, vibrant red Bond Girl Cocktail is created from taste memory of that Viennese holiday visit. After we’d enjoyed a few Bond Girl Cocktails, the local students commented to us that they were impressed that the much older visitors had such a great tolerance for these cocktails and were none worse for the wear. What cheek! Now, we share this cocktail with you; try one, or two, with our Tuna Tapenade spread on some crispy crackers or baguette slices. The Bond Girl Cocktail is a tad strong, after two you may feel shaken and stirred and think you are Pussy Galore! Remember, drink responsibly and don’t drink and drive. Enjoy!

Dirty Martini Pasta Sauce
Inspired by the dirty martini cocktail, Dirty Martini Pasta Sauce is luscious, rich and surprisingly simple to prepare. The shallot and garlic melt into the sauce and the gin and dry vermouth are reduced to their herbaceous essences yet not lost in the final thick, creamy sauce. Dirty Martini Pasta sauce pairs well with pasta shapes which can hold the sauce, we recommend penne rigate, rigatoni, cavatappi, gemelli, or radiatore. We suggest an appetizer of Fresh Figs and Prosciutto or Heirloom Tomato Caprese Salad, followed by Dirty Martini Pasta Sauce with one of the recommended pastas, accompanied by a lovely, dry New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc. Buon Appetito!

Ginned Tomato Sauce
Ginned Tomato Sauce brings together the woodsy-herbal elements of dry gin with the sweetness of fresh tomatoes. Relatively quick and easy to make, Ginned Tomato Sauce imbues the tomato sauce with the gin’s flavor elements, yielding a surprisingly tasty yet simple sauce. Ginned Tomato Sauce is best served with a long form pasta like fettuccine, linguine, spaghetti or angel hair but go with your favorite. Begin with a starter of Grilled Asparagus, pair this lively, different sauce with a crisp, dry white wine and offer grated Parmesan and Romano cheeses at the table.
Prepare sophisticated Ginned Tomato Sauce at your house and enjoy a dry martini while you’re cooking it, shaken or stirred is up to you.
